IDEA Institute

At the IDEA Institute, we start organizational equity and inclusion work by helping leaders and teams build muscle in cultural reflexivity (a step beyond cultural competency). We practice cultural reflexivity to improve overall organizational performance and more effectively meet the needs of the organization’s expanding community and often, evolving mission and vision and the needs of the community at large. We help leaders and teams understand the four pillars of integration: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA). It is critical to break down these terms and concepts within equity and inclusion work so that 1) organizations have shared language for what the work actually is and what it requires and 2) all team members, especially senior leaders and influencers, can communicate the value of these different types of work to the organization as a whole, employees, partners, board members and its community members.

Why do clients engage with us? Organizations who take the time and dedicate the resources to building inclusive atmospheres win, grow, and make better decisions. In turn, they are able to address business challenges head on, attract and retain talent, and stay relevant.
